2026 WSOP!!!
Any excitement yet??
Anyone happen to know if weβll need to get our ID checked again for the WSOP+ app or are we good if we did it in 2025? It would be pretty amazing to not have to do it again and play the WSOP without any lines at any point.
dont think you have to do it again.
looks like you have to verify at each wsop stop.
I am ALWAYS excited for the WSOP = I've had reservations booked for a month now............ BUT just checked the rates (to me hotel costs are a game ) and got even BETTER rates than I had and when I called the Horseshoe direct I got even better rates again. Now I am Caesars Diamond but truly nothing special but for 12 TWELEVE nights June 14 - 26 my Room cost at the HORSESHOE is honestly $240 + tax. I am exempt from the resort fees as a Diamond. Pretty incredible and since the WSOP is very consistent with their event schedule year to year I am confident the events I am most interested in will be during that time slot. I also have booked 5 additional nights Sunday 28th thru July 3rd for $0 ..... yes all comped. Folks it doesn't really get cheaper than that. Feel like I am a winner before I even play a hand :-)
Rates are phenomenal right now. Today I was able to lock in a week at the Horseshoe in the middle of the WSOP for about $90 per night after all taxes and fees. I'm not diamond and typically don't get anything waived. That's about the best price I'm ever going to see, especially on-site.
I have a tendency to tinker with my plans and shift my bookings around multiple times between my first booking and my actual summer trips, but I really intend to keep this one, even if I end up adding days elsewhere on either side.
It seems like a good time to lock something down if you have a pretty good sense of which dates will work for you and you don't care too much about hitting specific events that may or may not fall within your window.
Alright, Iβm going to start looking at rates now.
Lost my diamond status when they stopped offering it for Wyndham credit card holders.
If anyone knows how to get diamond back on the cheap, Iβm all ears.
Since Founders Card lost the benefit, and even the New Caesars CC that you have to pay for doesn't get you to full Diamond (additional freebies and Platinum ) without charging a massive amount on the card and they are unclear on the details "Up to 20, 000 Additional Tier Credits with purchase on your Caesars Rewards Prestige Visa Signature credit card" . The only other way I know of is getting 40 qualified hotel nights at a Wyndham property which should get you Diamond status there that is transferable to Diamond status at Caesars.
Guesstimate for $1000 Senior event? Iβm looking at Monday 6/15 which has been the norm.
I saw Comp show up at a couple Caesarβs properties for early that week. Iβve never seen that (did play maybe 1 hour blackjack and 2 hours Mississippi stud my last trip)
Monday, Tuesday 6/15 and 16th day 1's is the best consistent time guess. At worst it will be that week. They always have the Senior and super Sr spaced by 5 to 7 days and the Super always is the later of the two.
Yeah, I just started thinking of booking a stay for the Monster Stack. I assume third weekend in the Series. Like someone mentioned, probably the best room rate I will see this far in advance. The $50 nightly resort fee chaps my hide but what can we do about that? I might consider the Jockey Club but not booking this far in advance and not as convenient as the Horseshoe. At 75 I am not playing very well but can I stay away? I don't think so.
Jockey Club is now accepting reservations in the WSOP time frame but they were no bargain despite not charging for parking or resort fees.
Disappointed in Horseshoe prices so far. Iβm not Diamond anymore but Iβm still Platinum and the best they currently offer me is $109/night plus resort fees? Seems high compared to what I know others have gotten it for.
Horseshoe room rates / Prices are just way higher at the moment. My $240 would now be $800 June 14th - 26th at the Horseshoe and Paris is now cheaper at $714. Its just a game, Keep checking and they will almost assuredly drop again before the end of January 2026 for the time you are interested in.
Yesterday I booked a 4 night stay at Horseshoe for the Monster Stack at a decent rate. It was actually cheaper than the Flamingo is asking right now for those same dates. Paris rate for that same 4 night stretch almost double the deal I got at Horseshoe. I think the Horseshoe rate is good.

Update: the WSOP changed when the Monster Stack landed in the schedule. I got screwed out of my good deal and had to cancel and rebook for the Monster Stack. Silly me. I should have kept that reservation and used it for the Milly, darnit. Writing this 04/26.
QUESTION ABOUT TURO CAR RENTALS
*********************************
Does anyone have experience with renting a car in Vegas on the Turo car rental/sharing app?
*********************************
I stayed at the Orleans (love playing tournys there) and rented a car in June with a cheapo rental place next to the airport car rental βmallβ. Despite the βlowest priceβ, all the mandatory fees made the car really expensive. Whenever I go to the Horseshoe, I drive to the Gold Coast and bus over at Seniors bus prices.
I LOVE driving in Vegas!
I live in Toronto and with the narrow streets, ever-expanding new bike lanes & constant construction itβs a frustrating place to drive. Itβs fun to drive to off-strip restaurants which I often find better that many of the big-name, expensive strip places.
An Uber driver recently said when he goes to Vegas with his family he uses Turo and finds is a great option.
Any experience anyone can share would be really appreciated!
When I flew out to Portland, OR for a family reunion on the Oregon coast I used SixT. They helped me set up carplay on my iPhone to navigate. Renting from them was a good experience. I just checked and they are available at the Vegas airport. Turo was in the news in the Phoenix area several months ago. It turns out the cars rented out under Turo locally were stolen vehicles. As they say, your mileage may vary, LOL.

Memorial Day in 2026 will be Monday, May 25. Does WSOP start every Memorial Day weekend or the last weekend of May? Those are ordinarily the same weekend but wonβt be this year. Anyone know how they typically do it?
It starts the day after Memorial day -- Tuesday -- with the employees tournament first up. It for sure doesn't start the weekend before Memorial day. There's usually a big field event that brackets the first weekend after Memorial day.
Just thought I would point out that the first couple days of WSOP were supposedly a nightmare last year with all the people trying to to get validated for the app at once. I considered myself lucky that I got there a week later and it was pretty much smooth sailing. Something to consider when you're plann
I am actually starting to get excited already for WSOP!

I was there the first few days and it was a bit bonkers. My brother lives in another state and meets me there to kick off the series because he works at a casino and plays in the employee event. So unfortunately, Iβm there at the very start and dealing with the lines.
I was in town for Memorial Day 2024. The WSOP started towards the end of my stay. The series at Venetian and Wynn are likely to be launched before then. WSOP may lag behind by a few days. It's a good weekend for poker, but not necessarily for WSOP.
My guess would be that they start around the 27th or 28th this year. I would look at 5/29-5/31 as the most probable first weekend of the WSOP. Pure guesswork, but that seems correct to me.
Well the wait is on for the WSOP schedule release. Years ago it could happen as early as December. Now we have to wait until mid-February for the full schedule. Blame it on the foolish Paradise Bahamas series that few of us have interest in or could afford. They are too busy flogging that to finalize WSOP Vegas schedule. Anyone remember when the preliminary schedule came out last time?
The full schedule came out Feb 20, 2025 - with a teaser on Feb 14. Don't recall when they issued the earlier teaser schedule. It used to be released in late December but seems like it was actually in January 2025 last year.
Wow, this thread has gone cold. Wake me up when this discussion warms up. Maybe when the next morsel of news related to the WSOP comes out?

Yeah, not too much to talk about. I wish they would stop with the dopey paradise series that nobody cares about and focus their efforts on this.
Incidentally, room prices still high for me.
Yes, Room rates have escalated again - they dropped briefly but now are the highest I have seen. All you can do is keep checking - hopefully they will drop again in the next month.
Has anyone heard if the Orleans is getting an App similar to the WSOP app for their summer series in 2026?
Even if they simply started acceping credit card payments for their summer series tournament if would be super helpful!
That sounds entirely too sophisticated to match my perception of the Orleans, which is much more of a trapped-in-1996 vibe. Can't speak to credit card payments, but I don't think the money is there to justify a fancy app.
A creative developer + up to date security layer could probably spin up a beta AWS host and IOS/Android Apps (player, dealer, etc.) in a few weeks w/ assist from AI.
And if it's abstract enough sell it to all the other LV tourney hosts. There is a return for the investment.
Iβm annoyed WSOP hasnβt even confirmed the bookend dates and maybe mention some marquee events. Historically, they have done this in December. No idea why they havenβt done it yet.
I'm also annoyed by the lack of schedule announcements. They usually announce dates for some of the events in December and then follow that with a full schedule release in February.

If, by "bookend dates" you mean start and finish dates, they are contained in the new POY system announcement on the wsop.com page: May 26 through July 15th.
ββ¦Save the Dates: WSOP Las Vegas and WSOP Paradise
Following the European leg, the poker world will descend upon the Las Vegas Strip for the 57th annual World Series of Poker. The WSOP confirms the series will run from May 26 to July 15, 2026.
Players are encouraged to book early to secure the best rates at the two host venues, Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas; please visit www.caesars.com and use code WSOP26.
The dates for WSOP Paradise 2026 have also been announced; the premier live tournament series of the winter will take place from December 1 through December 18, 2026...β
Meh. How do nebulous end dates help or encourage us "to book early to secure the best rates at the two host venues ...". We'll have to assume that certain landmark tournaments like the Monster Stack occur at the same relative position in the series as last time. If they change things up by even a day or two that could ruin my reservation and require me to rebook at a higher rate. They wouldn't do that now, would they?

The long delay actually makes me wonder whether there may be more of a shakeup to the schedule this year than there was last year. Last year they made a significant change to one of the major events - the Colossus was moved up two weeks and increased from $400 to $500 - but otherwise the big changes seemed to be an additional flight. If you compare 2024 attendance to 2025 for the major events, you'll see that those extra flights only amounted to very modest increases in total buy-ins. That makes me wonder whether they're revisiting that decision, and we might see more significant changes in this second year of GG Poker running the show.
Personally, I hate having 4 starting flights for the major events. I much prefer having two, and filling in the schedule with more 2-day events (or 3-day events, with the third day being just the final table). I'm never going to plan a trip where I would plan on firing more than two starting flights of a big WSOP event, so extra flights would never make a dime more for the WSOP from my bankroll. I doubt I'm alone in that sentiment.
