Yeah, man: Negreanu and/or his editor(s) were very misleading about that hand. I watched the vlog and then checked this thread and was completely surprised.

BUT I ASSURE YOU HE IS VERY TRUTHFUL WITH HIMSELF AND HIS AUDIENCE ABOUT HIS PLO GAME /s

I'm a little confuzzled, though - today's vlog showed the hand in question, but Daniel made no mention about his misreading his cards. Did he not say something right as it happened, as PokerNews reported? Or did he claim to have misread his hand later to save a little face?EDIT: Also, the video shows him jamming on the K turn, not the T river. Dafuq.

No he said he bet the turn and then yada yada yada he made kings and tens and that was it. Didn’t come off as some conspiracy between him and editor. No need to save face about anything regarding less than a pot sized river with a tiny stack regardless if he misread or not

He did misread but who really cares, it happens. It was his key pivot that he needed to hit a wrap with. My guess is this morphed into him thinking it was a good card and he had one. Happens. Any other questions or concerns I’ll be available later.

Then let me offer you something more suited to your attention span (which you have every right to expand or shrink to your comfort; this isn't actually my issue with your comments): if you actually want to ignore me, then do it and shut up. Your cheap dunks are childish and unimpressive. God forbid I want to discuss poker at length on a poker forum. If you can stomach a few more

The Q1096 hand is probably super close and really dependent on the skill level of the button player as well as his opponents.

Him thinking Mercier almost always has a straight flush there is comical.

DN didn't imply the Mercier almost always has a straight flush. He said "you are definitely wrong" to someone who said he never had the straight flush. Presumably that means he sometimes has the straight flush, not he almost always has it.

Overlimp on button with QT96 is totally standard, although you could fold. Discussed previously and people showed simulations. Your range to overlimp on button after one limper is very wide. Some people are showing their lack of knowledge, not understanding this is a much looser range than to call a raise or open in mid position, etc. Similarly, if it was passed to you on the button with ante, you would raise or maybe limp a loose range. Also, DN's style and he probably thinks he has a skill advantage with limped pots in position. Definitely his small ball type situation.

Poker News could have the hand they say he misread wrong. Odd his vlog doesn't address that and say they were wrong, but just presents the hand totally differently. Would have more credibility if DN said the hand was misreported.

He literally says in his vlog - "Mercier x/raises me! I have the K of clubs. What could he have? It has to be the straight flush! My plan of repping the K high flush no longer works so I fold"

His actions and comments clearly indicate that he put Mercier on a range comprised of almost exclusively straight flush.

this.

If you are bluffing with a king high flush blocker and get checkraised, then it is probably time to fold. Whether or not your opponent has the straight flush, it is difficult to continue with the bluff.

He should stick to 10K and below tournaments, especially games with mixes in them, he's got an edge over the average players.

He just won the $50k players championship last year

He just won the $50k players championship last year

And won the 15K PGT Dealers Choice and 4th in 100K Super High Roller mix

And he cashed the $250K WSOP event this year.

He does vastly overrate his PLO skill. But so does every PLO player.

Daniel plays in a way very similar to Hellmuth in that his presence/table talk/aura carries him

Different than Phil though he has put the hours in to at least play breakeven against the killers, even in PLO I've heard

I will say though that his last vlog where he had 1 conversation with Matusow and all of a sudden Matusow "has got it" gives me pause

2nd of 11 at the end of day 2 in the $2500 mixed big bet.

Presence / aura / table talk will not do much in the $50K mixed game he won last year or the $250K NLHE he cashed in this year. Not many amateurs in those.

I sure hope Daniel finds the time to register for this event.
WSOP Event #79: $100,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller

Only chance Daniel has of going into the red for this wsop series.

Making all these final tables is part of his hustle, to convince fish he is a good player.

The 2.5K mixed big bet should finish tonight, so he should have time to register for the $100K PLO tomorrow.

He is currently 2nd of 7, so he should move up from 27th on the WSOP Player of the Year board. A good finish on that would be great for his hustle.

200K win in mixed big bet might have saved him 200K in PLO buyins. So it could be a 400K day

Lol. Whatever he gets 100k or 200k, 100k or 200k as needed goes into the 200k plo tomorrow.

Out in 4th. Busted out in PLO with a wrap versus 2 pair. Limped pot SB vs. BB. raised pot on the flop a 60% favorite. Called allin on the turn with a better flush draw and the wrap a 53% favorite. There was a short stack who looked destined to bust 4th. Negreanu was in 3rd slightly behind 2nd.

Not a pro lol. Haters going to have to be quiet for a day or two

Making all these final tables is part of his hustle. He is a losing player making money on endorsements, but the final tables make fish think he is good.

He has 5 finsl tables. Record in a wsop is 7 tied hellmuth and ausmus. Should be firing 2 in the 100k plo looking for another with the small field.

So what you're saying is Daniel has a chance of going in the red tomorrow.
