I played a decent amount this week, and noticed a common problem of players just walking around - and the floor does nothing to pick up the chips of the player. These guys would have like $70 stacks sometimes and just hold a seat open. It was during lucky table and one table had 4 people walking.

Has anyone else noticed this problem or was this just an outlier day?

More of an outlier day. Fourth man is pretty rare. Look during lucky tables the action is going to be stale. As soon as it's over poker starts

I heard from a dealer today that the $63k bad beat was hit a few days ago but was invalidated because the dealer dealt a hand to an absent player and then just killed the hand. I think we’ve all seen this before. I never knew this would negate a bad beat. I imagine the players were salty.

I talked with some of the staff and they are trying to do away with lucky table. It will be replaced with a high hand that triggers a lucky table from my understanding. This of course is subject to change and not 100%.

Something like $1000 to the high hand winner and $300 table share every 30 minutes - hour. (This would be $3100 every trigger instead of $4000 so they could do more than just 9 to distribute the money)

I think this would be much better and promote action instead of people just walking around waiting for the lucky table. It would also be exciting for the table that hits the high hand instead of just the player. It could promote some softplay - but still way better than what we have because the action is so stale on lucky table.

It's so obvious it's remarkable they haven't done away with fixed time lucky tables much sooner

Casinos that pay out $1000 are universally poorly run. Just completely unnecessary paperwork for everyone involved. Ill be playing less often on fridays if this comes to pass.

Also i have not had this experience of everyone being nitty and walking, ive loved the friday games, maybe saturdays are worse.

You can always decline the $ if you don’t want to deal with the paperwork [emoji1745]

Yeah i play friday 9 am-2 pm whenever i can, nice soft games, plus huge rakeback. The friday night and saturday games have always been tough, thats not because of the promo.

So they posted the new Friday and Saturday promo starting in the morning. First 60 high hands. Mystery envelope. Anywhere from $200 to $5k. Keeps the people from walking

60 high hands will be paid during this promotion. Average payout is $658. Is this good? Better or worse than lucky tables?

Is an absent player the same as in illegible player? And if so, why should that invalid the bad beat? Here is the rule according to Maryland gaming.

Lucky table + high hands was worth $44000 assuming every high hand hit and every lucky table had 8 people.

I'd say it's slightly worse EV wise, but imo better for the game. I guess it depends how fast 60 high hands get triggered. Sounds like they are insta pay - which seems kinda cool.

Its way worse because of uh… paperwork.

Also it warps your strategy and forces you to play bad passive poker with hands that can hit.

Also is anyone concerned about cheating? If its physical envelopes, **** like this gets cheated all the time, and it isnt even difficult.

I am with you. I preferred lucky tables, but the paperwork is the worst aspect of this.

The fact of the matter is that morning games are bound to be nitty.

Mystery envelope promos are so cool. Your EV is over the tax threshold, but you don’t get paperwork unless you over realize.

Can the powers that be who talk to casino management at least push for the $1000 envelopes to be dropped to 500, and the extra cash gets distributed to some of the $200/300 envelopes?

The $600-$1500 payout bracket is the genuine nonsense bracket of payouts. Dont love the 2500 tier either but whatever, at least a $5k payout, i understand the excitement.
