The alpha stack gimmick actually makes it more +EV to play flights, which will have less entries (making it likelier you beg a top 4 stack in a given flight). And all non-Friday flights will have significantly less entries than Friday flights.
There may be other reasons too , but also players response was lukewarm.
Main event* guarantee of 2 million wasn’t satisfied with only 706 participants .
807 was required number to cover the guarantee!!
Borgata had to add $250000 to cover the guarantee.
* Event 19 ($2700 Buy-In).
If or when this ever happens in Vegas, the TD or PRM is going to get fired (250k). I have seen them kill a gtd, day of, in Vegas using a disclaimer on the structure sheets that said it’s up to mgmt to decide to kill a gtd.
I heard during the WSOPc in NY that the Borgata poker room is being downgraded to make room for a bigger sportsbook. I assumed that was also a factor in not having a SPO this year too. Is the poker room being work on soon or was I giving bad info?

Yea i think it was less than 100 entries into each of the first two flights

Mostly probably bad info. Haven’t heard anything about Sportsbook expansion. They already did eliminate several 1/3 tables in the front to make room for longer lines at the cage, and yet the cage is still often closed lol. They turned the old Facebook into a high limit Asian game room so I guess that could in theory expand as well.
They have said at some point soon table felt and rubber is to be replaced, chairs are to be replaced, TVs are to be replaced, and I also heard talk of the wiring for the tables being fixed as well. Who knows when any of this will happen if it happens lol.

If they are they haven't started yet. But they really should cut the room in half or less at this point.
I believe the last tier credit dump was February 9th, just a week or so after the one at the end of January, which is odd ... someone said it's like every 45 days now, which would have put the next one at March 24th, but that day came and went.
Could it be, no more tier credits for poker??? I'm sure that would piss off a LOT of people!

what do all the + symbols indicate in bravo after the games? if i had to guess, i would think it is based on how big the game is, with more + being biogger, but was curious if there was a known answer.

The +means you are getting 2x comps during that time.

I thought it was $1 comp/hr per + in the Bravo listing, but unless they changed it 1/3 was $1.50/hr. 2/5 is definitely $2/hr and 5/10 is $3/hr

I think the "+" signs indicate level of comps/tier points earned, not a specific dollar amount. The extra comps during promotions was indicated by "3X" recently. That said, I've seen 5/10 rated both "++" and "+++" on Bravo. I don't know if that was an error, the game increased its comps, or whether it's variable depending on conditions, day of week, time of day, or whatever.

The reason they specify which games is because they probably don't want to overencourage participation in the 2-4-6 limit game.

The list was very long this past Thursday because Borgata wouldn't open another table. They're just playing for the promos and chopping a lot. The room isn't making enough off the rake they pay (nor, I suspect, the dealers unless they deal a promo winner). Let them play at Harrah's where they're not allowed to chop the blinds.
They took out like 15 tables in the front of the room where the cage is. All empty space. Confirmed horse book will be there now. Guess sportsbook was getting too crowded. Pretty awful move. Borgata poker slowly dying.

Running a once great room into the ground is the awful move.
Using space in the poker room for something else makes perfect sense these days.

Why not put the horses in the back of the poker room where the bathrooms are. Not sure I get the thought process there.

And what is going in the old horse book location? I assume they'll close the baccarat games when the old high limit location re-opens.
