some of us living in our old andor demonstrative states critically refer to that particular occular fixation on shoe purchase receipts as a free squint opportunity to needle and be the carnival heroine spinning spoonfulls of underground cotton candy song from over a half century ago as reminder of how sudden life might devolve within the spawn of two genrenations

I think it must be 15+ years since I last listened to Katie Melua, but clearly youtube felt it was time for me to do so again.

This song got some good play when it was featured in I Tonya.
Weird, a quick Google doesn't show any Innocence Mission in I, Tonya?
But you would think the song would be perfect for lots of romcoms with it's stirring "it's me for you and you for me" refrain.
