English Football Season 2025-2026. Here we go again.
Welcome 2+2 to the English football season of 2025-2026.
This year I am going to make the thread officially for all of E
Serious question : when was the last time a team as mediocre as Arsenal ended up winning the league?
I always felt like Chelsea winning it with Moses at right wing back was a miracle but that team feels like the galacticos in comparison
I'm sure their fans will really really care when the team are putting on their medals
Stop trying to jinx this please. We are causing enough trouble for ourselves as is
Wow what a comeback
On current form City are the better side and Haaland is back in form. If they win at the Etihad where Arsenal have a poor record the gd changes significantly and if they win their game in hand and Arsenal go W4 D2 it's in City's hands.
Plus for quite a while Arsenal have been showing signs of bottling games.
There are a few ifs in that paragraph but all very plausible and I didn't even need to factor in Arsenal losing a game.
Wham bringing on a sub keeper just before penalties. Lumping on Leeds
It’s written in the stars.
This kid is going to be the hero
Or not
Christ on a bike, that was nail biting.
Please let us get Southampton
Surely van Dijk's number is up at Liverpool - his defending against Man City was awful. Time for a refresh I think.

City would have to win every single game if you go W4 D2, that is insanely unlikely, especially this season. You're massive favourites for a reason. Would be a truly epic bottle, COMBINED with an unbelievably pure run from City, from here and I just don't see it. Like maybe 95%?
Game in hand and a game against Arsenal - If they win that brings them within 3 points?
Big ifs, and City's max points total is 85. Arsenal need 16 pts from 8 games to guarantee the title even if City win out, which is incredibly unlikely.
If they win game in hand they need to make up 6 pts in 7 games, probably 7 pts as Arsenal have a GD better by 7. A point per game on average is a LOT, that is 38 pt difference across the season.

Yep according to the Betfair exchange markets the "fair" price on Arsenal winning the league as I type this is 1.19 which means 84% chance.

Bookmakers odds are a bit lame for these things. They are lazy and operate on bigger overrounds to make money. Liquid betfair exchange markets tend to show the real chances.

I was assuming that City win all their games and if they gel they're more than capable of an eight game winning streak, while Arsenal are already showing signs of genuinely bottling it (I wouldn't describe previous seasons in that way because there were horrendous injuries that derailed things).
The betting markets think it's more like 85% and already dropping.

Huge difference between 85% and the 95% that Gram estimates.
There is and it's not like I put a ton of analysis into it lol
85% then, still going to win it 8.5 out of 10 times. That even feels a little light considering how meh City have been for a lot of the season. I'm basically never going to lay 1.19 or whatever but doesn't feel insane to consider it.
everything coming up joejoe
what a couple days this
After beating Arsenal I think we were expected to put 4 or 5 past Wrexham
been a pretty robust few days!
Man, the difference between having a world-class keeper and a good keeper is staggering. The last 3 games really showed the difference between the two
it's happening
West Ham are fighting.
What a shocking performance. Holy ****.
Fuuhuuuucking hell
