so the first time I played this at a board game meetup and then immediately got it and started this pog version, we were down to one card left for the last round, which was R

our target was dog house

someone said they had an idea and he said rrrrrrrooof like a dog; it didn't work, and was illegal, but it stuck in my head

so now dog house is first thought

only thing that gives me pause is that kennel is basically a synonym for dog house, so woulda thought they'd think it was a banger immediately, not "not awful" or "if they deduce f6 also then maybe they get it in one"

best f6 I have so far is fenced, but that may not be it or may be one of the 2 d1 has

n12 neighborhood; not sure about h14 yet, but it can't have house in it if dog house is ours, so could be useful to eliminate dog house

ok, want to try to move past dog house, which is an option, but may not be it

what else can kennel be cluing:

shelter
pound
enclosure
cage
coop
cell

think we'd get h3 hen for coop so that's out
humane for humane society for pound, plus kilograms and other weight words for pound

for shelter, house/home would be mentioned

cell would have holding plus nucleus, etc.

cage/enclosure is a bit tougher

so far i'm between dog house and cage/enclosure

but prolly gonna brainstorm more kennel words

for dog house, I would have gone from the right

and clued a dog breed starting with UNKQ to the left of h4 home as that would literally clue dog house

for cage, I would have mentioned enclosure
for enclosure, I'm not sure what I'd clue beyond kennel; and fenced f6 works better for enclosure than dog house
I woulda wanted to go from the right to open up cage hint on turn 2 most likely, tho

for crate I would have hinted at enclosure

gotta figure out h14 and n12 and the other f6 (and maybe even the first isn't fenced as usually they woulda said f5/f6 if it was fenced and no f7 fencing mentioned)

They mighta thought home = house and that would be illegal

I guess it's technically different but at first glance that may give pause

other ways to do it; i'm off dog house because no dog words (not even fido)...I was just biased because of my prior experience

I like crate/enclosure the most but enclosure seems like a weird word to have as a target

gonna noodle on those 2 words to see if can figure out h12/n12/f6 for them

my gut instinct is crate; when you kennel your dogs, you crate them or put them in their crate/cage

cage could work, but no bird words, no animal words, cage just doesn't seem right

Container is an option but f7 freight woulda been mentioned so we can eliminate it

So we're kinda back to cage and crate?

Anything else that stores animals?

Not gonna feel good until figuring out h12 or n12 or good f6es

Neighborhood could be n12 but I don’t see why first thing he’d think of for any of our potential targets so maybe neighborhood is wrong or maybe we don’t have the target on our list yet

maybe something like muzzle or some dog controlling thing?

ugh; will do a bit more thinking today and then we'll just need to fire for 2nd clue

ferret could be an f6 which leads to cage, but no fight, no iguana or bird words or other cage stuff means it's unlikely

and no iguana or other reptile words leaves out terrarium and aquarium is out due to no fish words

no nose or face for muzzle
no fur for grooming words

f6 could be feline

feline kennel...like a cat carrier?

or kennel for cage and feline for cat because they didn't say f6 to the left of k6....something like tiger is in a cage but we've had tiger before

don't think we've had lion before?

feline for lion; kennel to get cage; tho why not kenneled if it's an animal of some sort to emphasize it's the kenneled animal as target and not the kennel itself?

and no King for lion, so not lion

No Fido or dog word

what was wrong with muzzle? let's maybe try that, f6 could be filter or something like that
