Right, I don’t disagree that the new testament abrogated the OT laws in some way, but I think it’s much more ad hoc than actually separating it into categories because there were many indications and passages that Jesus, Paul, and the apostles believed that the end was coming soon and that was the reason for abrogation. After it was clear that wouldn’t happen,

Right. The Bible itself does not make any categories clear as Mathew, Paul etc disagree based on what they wrote. The key point is hundreds of years later people invented various tiers to justify what they were already doing. It wasn't that they discovered in the bible that pork and slavery are fine and gay sex isn't so that's how they behaved. They were already eating pork, owning slaves and condemning homosexuality so they invented something to spit out those answers. And it's obviously changed over time. Kirk has it exactly backwards... Love your neighbor as a justification for supporting pride week is not cherry picked at all, even if you think pride week is wrong. And quoting OT laws on stoning gays is cherry picking even if you think homosexuality is wrong.

The idea that execution is every a justifiable punishment for adultery is absurd on its face. More to the point, it's laughable that there would be one set of moral laws for one particular, ill-defined group of people at one time and another set of laws for other people. It's the dumbest kind of moral relativism: you have to believe that things like murder and adultery aren't bad in and of themselves but only insofar as God decides that are for one particular group at one particular time, which can change on a whim. It's like if God decides it's morally okay for Puerto Ricans to murder their wives after 7PM on Tuesdays. No one who isn't full-on mentally ill actually buys into this nonsense.
