Don't be a jerk.

If humanity survives it will be because we have killed a lot of fascists. You keep playing nice with these people and see what happens. You could see it now if you just open your eyes. You think Trumps snatching immigrants off the street and sending them to life sentences in a slave prison is their end goal? It's not. It's a test. It's a preview of a more expansive policy to come. Picture yourself being held in a black site because something you wrote on the internet 4 years ago and the only who could possibly help you are lol congressional Democrats. Think about that before you call me a jerk for calling for the death of neo nazi fascists. Put two and two together. Look at how they are trying to spread fascism in Europe and support every white supremacist nut over there. We don't want any Azov alive and accessing these billions in weapons we have handed them. Kill them all.

I don't care about Putin all that much. Putin is besides the point. The only reason you are fixated on him is because you have been drawn into this children's fairy tale about good and evil. But Russia is a whole country. Their insistence on Ukrainian neutrality predates Putin. The U.S. security state has this fantasy of having a NATO shaped dagger at Russia's throat or seeing Russia weaken itself in trying to stop it from forming. You have no reason to sign onto this. So they give you a children's fairy tale about some evil man when, in reality, we are dealing with the state of Russia which is a technologically advanced and nuclear armed country of millions of people. This is a state, not a man, which has protested NATO expansion for a long time and it is a perfectly reasonable that they should from their perspective.

(note: this n-th attempt at low level propaganda, like the previous 1000 ones, won't have any effect in convincing normal people)

"my side is good the other side is evil" isn't "childish propaganda". It's a necessary framework for all human groups to survive in the world.

At the end good IS what is good for your group, and evil is what isn't. In any 0 sum game your opponent is evil definitionally.

While it's true a lot of Trump's base does seem fixated on him personally, and it's also true that many Repubs have tried to mimic Trump but failed spectacularly, if you look at Trump's actual policies that actually affect people's lives he is really more like a slight accelerationist than someone whose individual person is having a huge impact. He's fighting the class warfare on behalf of his class just in the context of a different patronage network, different constituency that he placates differently.

The Dems placate their base by placing token minorities in visible positions and giving lip service to anti-racism and lgtbq issues. Trump placates his base by doing the exact opposite because the two parties are now established as cultural enemies of each other. Trumps placates the xenophobia and racism of his base with visible deportations and anti-woke rhetoric and symbolic displays. But on the issues that actually affect the qualities and quantities of our lives Trump is just carrying on the class war domestically and doing the bidding of the military industrial complex for foreign policy. Economic inequality will rise under Trump just like it did under Obama. Israel will be encouraged to keep slaughtering Palestinian civilians just like under Biden. Did Biden reverse Trumps tariffs on China? Nope. Did he restore the Iran nuclear deal? Nope. Did he reverse the Trump tax cuts? Nope (after several years of repeatedly saying he would).

Again, Russia has been saying Ukraine is a red line for decades. Now Russia is being consistent about a long espoused intention to keep Ukraine neutral. This was going to be the response Putin or no Putin. It's what any country would do in a parallel situation. When those neo nazis shot those protestors the die was cast.

I read this one because you led with it. It basically says in 2016 there were far right militias in Russia aiding ethnic Russians in Ukraine (who were under attack from the Ukrainian government) and some of them regard Putin as too passive.

So what is your argument? Use your words. We aren't mind readers. We know most every country contains far right nuts who think they are patriots. Have you looked at what kind of neo Nazis groups have infiltrated the U.S. military and police units all over the country? You don't even want to pull up that carpet and see that infestation.

You are basically saying Russia is a country. Beyond that you're going to have to articulate whatever your point is.

This is an interesting post which is taking a stand on something fundamental. Of course, I disagree fundamentally. I think the framework we are both acknowledging is not a way to survive but a way to mutually assured destruction, a destruction encompassing the species as we know it.

That kind of thinking was bad but not species threatening up until the nuclear age. The nuclear bomb ended the sustainability of this framework and forces us, if we think survival is our goal, to think of the system as a whole. This is against the core impulse of some types of people who, I hypothesize, evolved to thrive under said framework. We have to get rid of such thinking even if it requires getting rid of such people through extreme marginalization.

Pretty much explain a lot of things about your opinion not caring about Putin much ….

Yup it’s all me and my fairy tales lol
While everyone around the world that actually dealt with Putin think the contrary ….

Facts ?
Strange isn’t that because of Georgia and Chechnya, what happened to nato and those fairy tales u talk about ….

Since the creation of nato in 1949 , only 4 countries joined nato until 1999.
50 years !

When Putin gained real power in Russia starting in 1999 (and being implicated in Chechnya war ) what happened ?

NATO membership just double !
Only 100% increased in membership lol….
16 countries in 25 years , just out of the blue like that …?

Yup it’s all invention, Putin is a great peace man , everyone says so lol..
They just join nato because something something -> America lol…

Stop it.
D2-e4 is right, u just are a conspiracy nut…

Ps: the only friends Putin got are China and north Korea .
That is your side, I’m happy u think it’s great for you .
Models of democracy and respect of human rights and freedom of course…

it is not mutually assured destruction if one side, like Palestine, doesn't have nuclear weapons.

it is assured destruction of anyone who , without nuclear weapons, opposes someone with nuclear weapons.

the game has changed for USA v china, Pakistan v India and so on. yes.

in ways we can't comprehend yet, until two nuclear powers go into an allin war (if that ever happens).

but for the rest is the same game as always in human history: complete genocide of the weaker side should be the normal, expected outcome, and everyone else moves on.

that's why I hate you guys saying a genocide is happening. ffs I would love for that to be the case we would be done already for good.

if Israel wanted to actually genocide Gaza residents, there would be no more Gaza residents since early 2024.

The U.N. aviation council has put the responsibility for the downing of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 over eastern Ukraine in 2014.

https://www.reuters.com/world/un-aviatio...

Russian-controlled forces in eastern Ukraine responsible for shooting down the jet was under the control of Igor Girkin, an FSB-officer Igor who had "retired" the year before. In 2014 he set up in Crimea together with unmarked Russian soldiers to organize an insurrection. Girkin's service in the FSB included stints in Bosnia, where he has been accused of participating in the Visegrad massacres. Under the alias of Strelkov, he also served in Chechnya, where investigations links his name to several instances of extrajudicial killings and torture.

Girkin is a known supporter of the ideal of "Novarossiya", which is basically the Russian version of "lebensraum", which includes ties to and support of the Russian Imperial Movement which I mentioned in a few posts earlier. This is far right Russian nationalist movement which sponsors, recruits and trains Nazis / nationalists / white supremacists from across the world. Perhaps most infamously, he congratulated the movement on being designated a terrorist organization by the US in 2020: https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/eur...

Of course, In Russia these things make him a hero. His downfall in his home country began when he become a pro-Russian milblogger following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022. In his posts he made critical judgements of Russian strategic and tactical decisions, which likely lost him allies in the Ministry of defense.

After the Wagner uprising of 2023, Kremlin became paranoid about outspoken critics with military experience and popularity. It does not take much to see how the regime would especially be scared of people like Girkin, given his track record. Thus, he was put on trial in Russia and convicted for "inciting terrorism". Which is somewhat ironic, given that "inciting terrorism" is what Russia has paid him to do for his entire adult life.

https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/rus...

The tale of Girkin is a good example of how Russia uses and relies on ultranationalists and far-right extremists to achieve geopolitical ambition, and the story of MH17 is a good reminder of what these people cost us.

However, people have grown far too used to this. We forget that if people like Girkin and his ilk were in charge of Russia,, the current horrorshow would be a lot of worse. Putin and his regime is certainly a craven and corrupt dictatorship with no respect for human life, but they do possess a certain degree of self-preservation. That might not sound like a lot, but in a country which possesses about 4300 nuclear weapons, it matters.

Is Trump ever going to fully embrace the fact that Putin is playing him, and the cost is possible peace or "cease fire" in the Ukraine/Russia conflict?

Trump personally cut they legs out from under European sanctions when he told Zelensky to go to the meeting, so Zelensky called Putin's bluff and Putin was a no show.

So what is the next move for the UE and Trump, and why are they seeming to create chaos that is enjoyed by Putin by not signing off the same song page?

Never mind, I know the answer to that. Trump being impulsive and giving Putin outs...

Trump won't admit to being played, as that would put him one-down, but he might get angry at someone who frustrates his plans and makes him looks impotent, as Putin appears to be doing.

it's incredible how us centric yours and victor's views are. america is not a central part of this conflict but it's still basically all you guys care about. it's the entire reason you have ended up on the side you have

an entire worldview based on being in opposition to one country. like yours is the only country in the world that matters. it's incredibly chauvinistic and narrowminded

No wonder it takes more then 1 day to close that “deal” of Ukraine vs Putin :p

lol now that trump realize all the bs he said about ending the war in 1 day is not possible obviously, trump claiming Putin is crazy ……

https://apnews.com/article/donald-trump-...

I’ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY!” Trump wrote in a social media post on Sunday night.

Trump said Putin is “needlessly killing a lot of people,” pointing out that “missiles and drones are being shot into Cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever.”

I dont remember who, but I remember about a year into the war some commentator noted that Putin seemed to enjoy war (at least from his perspective in it). And he seems perfectly ok with the costs, in human life and resources.

And for this reason we shouldn't expect the war to end anytime soon.

Maybe it really is as simple that Putin is enjoying himself in all of this; and we shouldn't look for any deeper reasons and motives for why it is dragging on with seemingly no purpose or end in sight.

Russia puts up a new statue of Stalin. Victor frantically books plane ticket for a pilgrimage.

Meanwhile Trump gives Vlad a stern deadline for a ceasefire and if Vlad is still stringing him along in like, two weeks, well, he might just start looking at him in a different light. Maybe

Pretty sure Trump said two weeks a month ago and said 24 hours 6 months ago
