By 1910, 72% of children were attending school. Between 1910 and 1940 the high school movement resulted in a rapid increase in public high school enrollment and graduations.[35] By 1930, 100% of children were attending school, excluding children with significant disabilities or medical concerns.[35]
It didn’t Even had all kids going to school as far as 18 years later from your great coveted American era ….
Imagine the rest .
I was asking about actual reality not the delusional fairytale you have in your head. Trying to claim making a living playing cards is "rightwing libertarian capitalism" is absurd get off the drugs.
Saying people don't pay taxes they would legally owe regardless isn't the big brain take you think it is.
actual reality isn't the law on paper either, it is the law in reality right?
making a living playing cards isn't necessarily right-wing libertarian capitalism.
if you play bridge for a living you are doing something very different than if you play poker online for a living.
and btw there are various countries where you don't owe taxes on online poker winnings. and that number was very high at the beginning of online poker.
same for crypto.
not sure why you want to deny poker online actually worked according to right-wing libertarian capitalism principles for a decent while in many countries
You know life in north Korea for everyone is disastrously worse than life in Nazi Germany for 95% of people was.Yes exterminating 1-2-3-5% of the population and letting the rest live fairly normally is exceptionally better than exterminating the same percentage or more (NK has a lot of mass executions, and camps as well) and then making life as terrible as possible for everyone
You said North Korea , now u revert back by saying you met communist as a whole ?
In less then 15 years nazis killed far more people then the 70+ years old NK regime years….
Nazi were very agressive in invading foreign countries creating war right ?

Income is income. Not really worth covering much more than that wrt how it works in the Big Leagues aka the USA 😀
I know you want to jackhammer your politics onto it--but that just doesn't make it so. Were Southern Riverboat gamblers etc thru history also "rightwing libertarian capitalists" prior to the ideas even really existing? There's a solid chance calling some of them rightwingers back then would've gotten you shot lol
Refresh my memory again--who wrote and passed the UIGEA? I feel like I remember it being the Law&Order gang?
If anything it's just another example of the govt not actually being the ones leading the way and simply playing catch up poorly to changing conditions out in the wild.

The USA is a weird outlier fiscally actually. We already mentioned how it keeps taxing citizens even if the move while basically every other place doesn't.
Now for the "income is income", that's absolutely not the case around the world. Like in australia, if you have a job and poker takes less time than your main job, all profit from that is tax free (or was a couple of years ago).
Australian friends just got fake-hired in min wage jobs and played poker full time and never legally had to pay anything in taxes on poker profits.
UIGEA was a disastrous piece of legislation (not only for the content, but also because of the deranged attaching of anti-gambling to a port security bill), passed by a republican trifecta yes.
Should i remind you i could become an american citizen but i refuse to, and i prefer to live elsewhere? for some lines of business/ ways of life, america isn't a libertarian paradise at all. Did i ever claim the contrary?
Not really. Like, if I play in a cash game online the rake is essentially my purchase price to play at the table. A tax would be something additional to the purchase price.
That said, most Libertarians aren't opposed to taxation per se.
Well with no taxes, no army , no country , no society -> no games buddy .
It’s exactly the same.

No, it's not exactly the same.
The purchase price of a product is determined by the retailer. The tax on a product is determined by the government. The tax is added to the purchase price.
Again, I don't think anyone in this conversation is arguing against taxation per se anyway. Am I wrong about that?

Rake is a tax needed to provide a game .
You disagree ?
How an online poker site pay the infrastructure it needs to give you access to a security poker game if its not through Rake (tax on earned income on a pot) ?
And has the pot gets bigger ( higher stakes ) , the Rake cost ends up being higher …
Yes, I disagree. I've explained why approximately eight trillion times so far (give or take).

You are correct, the rake is a fee you pay to play the game.
And has the pot gets bigger ( higher stakes ) , the Rake cost ends up being higher …
Amazingly, I know how rake works. But thanks for sharing.

that would be a fair criticism to anarcho-capitalism (And other different forms of anarchic models). Take it to them though.
No taxes *on income* still allow for law enforcement, border enforcement, prisons, judges, an army (ie the things the state should do).
It doesn't allow for massive welfare, education, healthcare to be paid by the state though (which is something the state shouldn't do).
"but if we don't tax income, what do we tax?". Various possibilities.
The most moral would be a fixed personal tax (if you can't pay, you pay with your work) per year. Everyone pays the same for the benefits the country provides which are the same for everyone.
Alternatively a land tax (but then only land owners get the vote).
No one thought they were making a political stand multi-tabling nl back in say '02.
Your logic basically boils down to every black market/off the books/unregulated etc economy being a rightwing endeavor and that's just not the reality of the situation. Retroactively trying to paste that label on everything is just silly.
Yes you can project Some of what's in that philosophy onto it--but that's more a result of the philosophy being built on already established concepts.

It's not the "endeavor" that is rightwing, it is the framework within which it exists which is rightwing libertarian. Which gives us real life example of rightwing libertarian principles at play, how things work out if public regulation is non existent, and taxation doesn't deter investment and consumption.
Black market economies are what all economies would be if they followed rightwing libertarian principle, except you also have the recourse to courts in case of contract breaching.
And the results are clear, and splending, and ruined every time the state manages to put it claws unto those economies.

Isnt black market about having lower prices or illegal consumption ?
Why u believe only right leaning valued people are for those ?
Ie: u think for example having lower prices for medication is only a right wing thing ?
About alcohol , drugs or gambling ?

I don’t understand why u understand the principle of the fee needed to have a poker game but not understand government tax is a fee to benefits to live in a country like the US ….
Every countries have different tax model (fees rates) like any poker game have different Rake models with each having different benefits .

The early days of online poker did not happen within a "rightwing libertarian framework" you goof. It was a combo of things new tech/changes in the popularity of cards etc that all happened before govt could catch up just like usual. Politics didn't become a part of it until real life rightwingers decided it was a danger to their bizs' and paid their pols to shut it down to the degree that they could ffs.
These kinds of situations have been happening for a hell of a lot longer than rightwingers have been trying to latch themselves onto them. And in case you haven't been paying attention the bleeding edge of the right has already moved on to shiny new ideas. And the herd will most certainly start to follow--just like always. The right has no claim to the entirety of capitalism--that's a laughable position currently&historically. AC is little more than a thought experiment--no actual rightwingers in power have been trying to end the state in favor of anarchy--they've had plenty of power to take a crack at it around the world/over the years. It's mostly just a fairytale to try to win arguments lol kinda like god for the religious nuts.

yup, the republicans did not defend liberty, less regulations, and free market at all like they always try to portrait themselves of doing ...they just went against online poker because their backers (casinos, etc) told them it was bad for their business.
the hell with the libertarian freedom view they always "try to defend" but never act on it , etc...
Road rage or mad drunk? Not the result you wanted, I know.
What's also concerning is how post-Southport the police feel the need to reveal an arrestee's skin colour because they fear that otherwise the far right on social media (that you're a representative of) will again spread fake news or speculation about how it was an asylum seeker.
