The "LOLCANADA" thread...again

So what's new?

I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet

She has clearly said she is pushing for Alberta to stay in Canada . Funny how crybabies like you and David Eby are silent on Quebec and the fact they actually have a separatist party and the biggest welfare babies in Canada

She is pandering to both sides. Her base, regrettably, has a large, vocal, and incrediably toxic separatist contingent. What she has done is to fan those embers as much as possible because she thinks it is politically in her favour. She has been in the drivers seat setting the conditions and ultimately making the call to have a fake referendum about whether to have a real referendum. This is dangerous. It builds political momentum.

Carney had a good point about this in comparison to Brexit where people, potentially large amounts of people, might actually vote in favour not because they necessarily want Alberta to leave or think it will leave, but because they think doing so will give them more leverage and power in negotiations. We saw how horribly that miscalculation was for Brexit and how disasterously the attempts to unwind that boondoogle was.

I'm not quite sure why you are trying to act as if I am in any way hypocritical here. I've opposed Quebec separatism my entire political life. They aren't having a referendum in october however, so obviously the political spotlight is on Alberta.

Apparently they were all here on either student visas or temporary work permits. Very hard to understand why you'd want less immigrants from a low trust society who faked their way into this country.

Its the problem with our immigration system. You try and deport them and they fight it to the max usually while they are on bail committing more crimes. As well folks like Professor Uke will imply your a racist for posting it .

I think the distinction here is zero people are happy with crime or tolerant of criminals. But it is a step beyond to sink to "low trust society".

Lol you sad little man. India is a low trust society, India doesn't even deny being a low trust society. There's a reason we're seeing immigration policies becoming more strict SPECIFICALLY for India world-wide. Want to guess why this is?

I think at this point we can shed any pretense that your (really bad, ill-informed, poorly articulated with made up statistics) arguments against specifically Indian immigrants were based on any sort of actual economic analysis. Let's be euphemistic. It's clear at this point your opposition to Indians in Canada is about your "cultural" views such as them being low trust.

Just say it professor. Stop being a weasel.

When countries label Indian students and Indian students alone as ''high risk'', that's quite telling. What's more telling is that people like you will continue to deny this because this is what happens when you go too far left. You lose all sense of reality.

It turns out demographics are a real thing! I don't know how you can denie low trust society's being a real thing. indias also not a single country really culturally or historically. There is definitely some high trust society's in there. Just not a lot! but when its in their best interest to break laws and come here illegally (and easy) you will get even a bigger slice of the low trust pie from individuals

Its Professor's back handed way of calling you a racist .

I remember when I commented on the fact no graves were found in Kamloops the same thing

Yet when the National Post runs a bunch of stories on how nor one body has been found I wonder if that is OK

I agree. You SHOULD have just come out and say it. Back at the very beginning where you were droning on about an Indian serving you coffee at Tim Hortons we could have saved a lot of really bad faux debates with faux statistics (lmao at you claiming 80% of immigrants were indian) pretending to about economic reasons, you should have just been clear your actual opposition is culturally to Indian immigrants. You told me you have no problem with Canadian born brown people so I'll accept that it isn't racism (a hard claim to prove on the internet!) but I think we can be super clear here that the opposition is "cultural". Am I wrong? Do you have a better word than "cultural" that you want to put in here?

Can you give a cite for which country you are referring to? Canada like many countries has a risk-management immigration system. It doesn't group specific countries together, but analyzes a range of case-level risk indicators.

I think you are making things up. Perhaps some twitter opinion you've morphed onto me. I don't think a conversation where I backhanded implied you were racists for kamloops graves sites was a thing that ever happened ITT. Again. Can you find a quote?

2 things can be true at once. I can have an issue with the numbers and an issue with the quality of immigrants which I must've said now about 6 different times.

I have even very specifically said not all cultures are equal and not all cultures mesh. The fact you are yet again asking this is just bizarre.

The rest is just you having your head so far up your ass you don't know what reality is anymore. Imagine being so ******ed you deny India is a low trust society.

Google it professor. This isn't hard.

by Pablito

I have even very specifically said not all cultures are equal and not all cultures mesh.

So, exactly what I said. Your opposition to Indian immigrants is cultural. In your mind theirs is not equal to ours. They do not mesh with ours.

You are acting like I'm being a weasel about it, but it seems like what I am accusing you of is EXACTLY what you are are proudly declaring!

Google it professor. This isn't hard.

I'm happy to google it. Which country are you referring to so I can google it. There are lots.

Sure I guess? I have no idea anymore because you're asking the same question over and over just differently. I've said I have an issue with the volume(and the impact of this) and an issue with the quality of RECENT immigrants. Why this is so hard to understand is beyond me.

You are. Just say I'm a racist like you want to and we can move on.

I didn't ask a question (except for which country you want me to google, which you ignored). I made the statement effectively quoting you that you don't want more than a small percentage of Indians in Canada because you think that culturally they are not equal to us, their culture doesn't mesh with us, etc. It seems we both agree precisely on what you think.

You are. Just say I'm a racist like you want to and we can move on.

You told me you have no problem with Canadian born Indians. I believe you. It seems your opposition to Indian immigration is more cultural than racial. I think you've completely revealed who you are and your base motivation on this issue and it doesn't need to be upgraded to "racist" to be critiqued even if that was possible to demonstrate (which is very hard due to no true scotsman like arguments).

You act like this was all "obvious" from the beginning, but you made VERY different arguments previously. For instance you once gave a very reasonable list of immigration policies like that we should select for people who speak english, no criminal backgrounds, strong education in economically important fields, sufficient wealth, etc. That isn't a cultural argument - and those kind of individual characteristics are exactly what I think our immigration system should select for. Or you would argue in support of domestic youth unemployment, again economic argument not cultural. But what you have now made crystal clear is the true source of your opposition is that you think their unequal culture doesn't mesh with ours.

Edit: nvm, I cba doing this again. This will be like the 6th time. Total waste of time.

Agreed. I wouldn't expect much from someone droning on about how one particular culture is "unequal" and unable to "mesh" well. I'm not surprised such a person believes hilariously false made up statistics like that 80% of immigrants are Indian either.

ThatÂ’s fair. I too have 0 expectations from the professor who denies reality and continues to be proven wrong by MPs and perhaps even funnier than that, by the very corporations that you so passionately defend. Yet, somehow, with 0 expectations, you continue to disappoint.

ItÂ’s quite something.

The whole "proven wrong by MPs" thing is odd. You keep going back to that line. Zero quotes of course, just vague allusions, but no I don't think there are many (any?) MPs who drone on about Indian culture being unequal and unable to mesh. That's a you thing. Find a quote if I'm wrong. So this weird appeal to authority about MPs is odd. But I guess this is the kind of quality thinking you'd expect for someone who gets upset on the internet that an Indian person served them at Tim Hortons.

The fact you continue to do this really says all there is to say about you. Somehow you continue to disappoint. Sad.

Let's put it this way, when you came into this thread and started talking about the indian who served you at Tim Hortons (recall this was the beginning of the whole immigration discussion) I immediately identified you as the type of person who would later rant and rave about Indian culture being "unequal" and not able to "mesh" with ours. I said DRINK! DRINK! DRINK!

And now we have verified that I was 100% from the very beginning, with you now proudly proclaiming precisely what I immediately suspected.

No mostly shocked at the blatant lies and maybe even worse, the denying of truths.

I will never cease to be amused that you think acting like this is is...clever. Obviously trans men can get pregnant, nobody is confused about is happening biologically, and it's just so utterly pathetic to pretend like you've got some gotcha. And then to just stick it into random conversations on other topics over and over and over again, like man it is just embarrassing.

Never found that quote of me saying what you made up I said about Kamloops huh?

lmao what "lie" do you imagine I've told?
