thought it'd be me vs NL10. turns out it's me vs myself (and I) lmao...

heyy everyone. I’m 26 yo dude from Kyrgyzstan (super mountain-dense country in Central Asia) w background in marketing & IT project management; besides poker, I'm also into crypto & algo trading

started playing poker when I was 18 during the freshman year in Prague in 2017. I was fortunate enough to win consistently in home & some private games, as well as having occasional successful (and not so) shots at the local casinos back then (9-max NLHE $0.5/$1). but online poker quickly humbled me lol

since then I been treating poker as hobby and 2NL zoom games as the training field, while enjoying studying the game's theory. I always loved diving into mechanics, math, psychology... but I kinda played "smart", and not wished to grind my way from micros, thinking I'd earn money elsewhere, and then start playing NL50+ 5bb/100 right away (I know, right? xD)

still haven't really figured life shi out lol, but recently I felt dedicating much more energy into poker, as it actually lightens up my inner fire moar than other potentially "smarter, socially acceptable" endeavors

my goal is to move out in 2026 and start taking care of my people. poker-wise, I concentrate on beating 50k hands at NL10 with wr 5bb+/100

with that in heart, 2 months ago I invested 60BI bankroll and started playing NL10 regularly. the distance so far:

  • 13k hands fast-fold
  • 3k hand regular 6max tables

during this sample, I got my ass beaten pretty bad lmao. well, technically, I am in the middle of what can be considered a downswing. but I actually used to blame variance & dispersion much more in the beginning, compared to now

the single biggest bottleneck rn for me is mental, not technical. why I think so? bc usually when I watch replays I instantly know when I'm up to some bs (I also like to confirm/oppose my reasoning vs GTO using Wizard). the current ratio of the analyzed hands is roughly 2 blunders for every 5 coolers/bad beats. yea I make mistakes, but the results are < than EV

I'm quite vulnerable to the revenge tilt, and tend to overplay my holdings way too much in my B- zone. logically, I understand patterns that should be fixed and don't punt too much short-term. but emotionally, I sometimes cry when I can't win a flip or get bad-beat after bad-beat xD. especially, given the aggregated stress from 2 months of constant fight or flight mode... actually, because of that I finally fixed my sleeping schedule and started exercising and recovering regularly. what a lovely dynamic!

now I decided to take some off-tables time and focus on the meta more than the actual game for a while. this includes some community activity. will post what's going on with my journey sometime

ideally, looking for feedback from winning players, or those dedicated to becoming one. feel free to share your experience, advice, or roast my hands
