Also, even tho they call it unlimited, I'm always concerned aboit using too much. It was less stressful just having an accrued amount. Lol

Working as intended. Unlimited PTO is a scam.

That does suck. I get an automated email from HR letting me know that my vacation will no longer accrue unless I use some.

And then the pressure is on you to find something to do with time taken.

I liked knowing I would have my pto paid out if I left. Also, even tho they call it unlimited, I'm always concerned aboit using too much. It was less stressful just having an accrued amount. Lol

The first sentence. Was always nice, when leaving a joint, to have them write me a check for whatever amount.

Having no "time on" s a pretty good deal though. Hope you guys are able to get there at some point.

moms was a union teacher in california for decades. when she retired she had over a years worth of sick time they wrote her a check for.

Only being allowed to carry over 10 days of PTO, and no sick-time carryover.

Wifey works for state, has dozens of days sick-time built up that will eventually turn into $$$ when she retires (early, I might add)

She probably has already checked on this, but some states cap the number of hours of vacation and/or sick time they will pay $$$ for at retirement.

Self employed. No paid vacation or sick leave since 2004. Boo

Also paid at rate upon separation, not the rate when earned.

Also, self employed.
No pension etc - only source of income (other than SS) is winning money of these guppies in sports bets. Just kidding, no not really. Yes, really. Only kidding. Maybe.

On the NCAAB ticker, the ticker is a black background with white text, and the graphics department inverts the score of the LOSING team.

The numbers are there, so I can see who won, but why wouldn't you graphically indicate the WINNER of the game?

When the basketball team I am pulling for shoots way fewer free throws than their opponent. Seems like this happens 80% of the time, not statistically possible but it seems that way.

That my dog always gets a longer vacation than I do.

This does not PMO

It's a dog's life.

Isn't a dog on vacation 24/7/365?

For about 12 years.

If he's neutered, it probably isn't all that much of a vacation.
That's the kind of vacation nobody wants.

It won't work for everyone, but one of the few smart things I've done is teach a friend to run the show when I'm gone

Still costs me to take time off, but it costs less and most of it is going to a friend who is happy to make the money

my concept of offering fundamental humanity includes sharing work related stories with the similar other than younger someone elses trodding along behind in our career footsteps to help them find at least as much success as we have, hopefully more

That's what I did when I had a paper route in junior high. Today the guy who was my substitute could buy and sell me twenty times over. Who's the smart guy here?
