Yuto Moriyasu, a Japanese poker player, was reported missing in Las Vegas on July 2 while in town for the 2025 World Series of Poker, according to their friend Sasa, who asked for help tracking them down on X.

The Las Vegas metropolitan police department confirmed Wednesday to The Post that a missing person’s report was taken for 26-year-old Moriyasu.

is this the guy who has the insanely popular youtube channel

Hopefully it turns out being a typical poker story where he was getting staked and donked the money off somewhere so he went into hiding as opposed to something more sinister.

Wow, crazy. Another account (https://x.com/VegasPokerMama) reports that he left everything behind at the AirBNB, including his wallet, phone and backpack. That does not strike me as someone who wandered off voluntarily.

The AirBNB also has a key system that logs entries, etc., so that will certainly be a central point of the LVPD's investigation. But this is now one full week since his last sighting (July 2).

EDIT: and no, this doesn't seem to be a big YouTuber. You might be thinking of Masato Yokosawa, who has almost a million subs and made a deep run in the 2023 Main.

Then you definitely haven't heard of the Japanese occurrence called, "Johatsu" where people leave everything behind and voluntarily disappear without a trace. I'm not saying that is what happened, but there is a cultural phenomenon outside of what you thought was possible.

They found him
No details yet odds are he donked off his main event buyin on the typical Vegas vices and was evading the great shame.

Any more details? Google isn't finding any news of his reappearance.

Sounds like he punted away his buyin in the pit and disappeared out of shame.

The Spearmint Rhino is $10K richer....

Yes once they posted the pic of him gambling this was virtually always what happened. The only thing up in air was if was still alive or not, and happy to see he is

Thanks for the updates, glad he is alive.

I bet it took a searchlight to find him.

Hopefully this incident sparks more open conversations about mental health in the poker community.
It's not a sign of weakness — it's a real need that often gets overlooked in high-pressure environments like tournaments. The emotional toll of variance, financial swings, and the general lifestyle can really wear people down. It’s time we normalize talking about it and supporting each other beyond just hands and strategy.
