That's a common misconception. You don't need amazing rules to beat BJ. Any non CSM BJ game can be beaten, even 6:5 BJ if you can spread your bets enough without being backed off. Many casinos that offer 6:5 do so because they assume this will guarantee that no card counters will play these games and so they don't even bother watching them for counters.

The counters who refuse to play anything other than double deck with amazing rules and good penetration are cutting themselves off at the knees. Firstly those games are pretty rare often requiring travel, secondly they are watched like hawks by the floor and surveillance so you are much more likely to get backed off. Lastly, they are always full tables often with other counters playing. Reduces EV significantly at a full table and also increases chances of being caught when there is another counter at the table.

Ill happily skip past those games and play a 6 deck game game that is completely empty and receive no heat spreading $50 to $1000. I'll also generate way more EV because I'm playing at least 3x more hands per hour solo than at a crowded double deck game that is shuffling every few minutes.

Yeah you clearly don't know what's involved in AP slots. 12 hours walking around circling and checking the same machines at casino after casino. Often visiting 30+ casinos in a day. For every couple of minutes they spend playing they spend an hour walking around checking machines. Sure there is a little shopping and vulturing around required in BJ and poker too, but we are talking about a tiny fraction compared to slots.

I’d either go straight deuces or nit it up at JOB but obviously it doesn’t matter if CN isn’t going to look at charts/common spots and/or get a VP calculator on his phone!! He is like bizarro world Diesel at this point, he’s the opposite of a nit and is a crippling spend thrift instead of a cheap stake, but CN also refuses to get any better same as diesel.

Trooper is so sad with how he thinks vulturing slots is this glamorous, exciting pursuit. It’s seamy, grueling work in a nasty place — it is basically like walking around in an Amazon warehouse and playing Simon says against slow adults.
