About 7 years ago, he posted a video on his poker results for the year. My recollection is that he was close to break even, maybe up or down a few thousand dollars, and played only 500 or 600 hours all year. But he has 230 million views on YouTube. So his income from YouTube and sponsorships far surpasses what he could hope to make as a full-time mid-stakes grinder. No one real

7 years ago was before he went fulltime pro, was it not? These days, I could believe he doesn't have to play for a living because of what he gets from his piece of The Lodge. Before, he was mostly a 2/5 player, sometimes 5/10. Now it seems like he's playing the nosebleeds a lot.

Feel like Rice quality of life would be so much better if he focused more time on finding a lady trooper (lady rice) that could help out splitting expenses with.

it would take a rare woman to constantly pay for El D dinners and watch him go to town on her dime

maybe he can find someone off a food fetish dating site (if there's one) once he gets himself a smartphone in 2030

i've never watched his stuff, but i've heard from several players that he's a losing player - idk if there's anything to support that - they could possibly be haters idk

He might be a losing player at 10-20 NL. Doesn’t mean he is a losing player at 5-10 or below.

I would be shocked if he can’t beat 2-5.

In 2019, he won $1,163 in 698 hours of playing poker. That might be where he got the reputation of being a losing player.

And he started vlogging 9 years ago. Time flies in the Vegas poker vlogosphere.

Women are turned off by tightwads, and I bet that Rice is turned off by a woman being a big expense for him while dating.

Brad Owen was definitely a winner in Bay Area and Vegas nl cash games through out the 2010s, his main game was 2/5 at red rock.

Before he started vlogging, he followed some girl to LA and went bust in the cash games there over the course of the year, I forget exactly when. He also worked two stints at an accounting firm briefly and had a relationship with his older boss the last time.

FYP, he likes staring at naked dudes at showers in the weight room.

Today ELD travels to Tonto Forest in Arizona.

The airbnb provides a refrigerator stocked with comped hard boiled eggs.

ELD summits the mountain at Tonto Forest.

ELD reports that he met a firefighter who stated he worked at a mountain fire wherein a boyfriend pushed his girlfriend down the mountain and she broke her leg and started a fire to signal her rescue.

ELD then drinks sarsaparilla from a Payson Bashas supermarket.

by pig4bill

That point was some time ago. It seems okay if a guy moves to Vegas and plays losing poker for awhile because he's trying to build a skill, and most people will get at least a little better over time. That means the losses will get smaller. But if you're playing only -ev games all the time, that's not the case.

Seems like casino nomad and poker nomad would form an extremely beneficial collab. CN offers PN comped rooms and access to quality food while PN teaches him poker while he is unemployed.

LOL at Rice teaching/coaching poker. How to be a broke living breakeven promogrinder over hundreds of hours.

Lets go crush!

Rice Hiking is fantastic. Loved the pajamas. Rice, if you see this.... there's a thing called trail maintenance and ridge runners. They clear the trail of downed trees. And no, the clean cuts are not the result of a thousand years of wind. It's dude's in much better shape than you that carry out chain saws and equipment and clear the path.

Ivy League education and kid can't figure out why a tree that had fallen across the trail has two clean cuts on either side of the trail with a clear path through the middle. Nature is f*cken amazing!

But still; LOVED the content.

Nothing like seing the nomad fashion icon showing how its done, rocking those pajamas and those classic signature bad boys sunglasses.

On top of that we get to hear those beaten down damaged lungs by tons of cigarsmoking over the years really get to work. Rice/Calfzilla/Employee gym 2025 MVP is pushing himself to his absolute limit on those uphill stretches.

What more can you wish for?

A 30 second search in Alltrails shows that the typical route for this hike is a 12-mile loop, and is rated 3.8 stars which is fairly miserable. I was in the Tonto in December and there are absolutely amazing trails. Why someone would travel to the Phoenix area for hiking and spend time doing what Rice has done the past two videos is . . . questionable. But, Rice does most things half-ass, so I guess no surprise.

Is Aria still the main spot for mid-stakes PLO in Vegas? How about NL?
•What stakes are reliably running (2/5, 5/10, 10/20 etc.)? Is it mostly public?
•How many tables typically run on weekdays vs weekends?
•Do the 5/10 and bigger games or soft and deeper 2/5 run close to 24/7 everywhere or mostly peak hours only?

Game mix questions:
•Does anywhere spread PLO5 or Big O with any consistency?
•Any round-of-each / mixed Omaha games ever go, or is it mostly straight PLO4?
•If mixed runs, what stakes and how often?

Rake / collection:
•Pot rake vs time rake?
•What’s the current cap?
•Any recent changes?

Operational stuff:
•Dealer quality overall?
•How many hands per hour are you realistically getting in live PLO/NL in Vegas with all the ranking?
•How often do the games have straddles or non-standard formats?

Player pool:
•How tough is the average lineup?
•When people say “euros,” what are we actually talking about?
•HSNL live and guys waiting for a bigger game to open? Ex pros?
•200 PLO rakeback grinders on tougher sites?
•200/400 app regs?
•More solid regs or still plenty of splashy action?

If anyone has recent, verifiable, and quality firsthand insight on most/all of these bullet points, more than happy to buy you a nice steak dinner and drinks in Vegas. Discord .buttonclickr, PMs are fine, or feel free to reply if you think others will find it useful. I really appreciate it!

I don’t really watch his videos, but I recall him always being fairly pissy anytime he booked big losses.

I’m sure by now he makes enough that he could comfortably lose $ in those bigger games, but his whining struck me as the type of person who can’t accept variance.

True to form, Rice takes 5 eggs from the "help yourself to eggs" offer at his Phoenix-area Airbnb. He also brought a sixth egg with him from the address.

In addition to being at first perplexed about sawed-off trees that have fallen across the trail (which is as he eventually concludes, maintained by the forest service) he also appears not to understand that places like AZ/NM etc have areas of high desert. He seems especially impressed that this desert terrain can be wooded and have snowfall.

You do have to wonder if this greedy, arrogant fat slob of a penny pincher/cheapskate have ever turned down free food in his entire life?

He is the type of person that always ALWAYS takes advantage of free food if its available to him.The kind of guy that just dont have it in him to not exploit no matter what. Even if he gets somewhere right after stuffing himself at home where he can have free food,Rice forces down a serving even though he is full strictly because its free.

A man of principle!

Can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet but Rice saying he saw a wild moose walking around in Arizona is up there with the stupidest things he has ever said. There's a 95% chance that it was a large bull Elk and then a 5% chance that it's just a pure fabrication in order to have something interesting to say. Of course there was no photo or video footage taken of this wild moose encounter in Arizona LMFAO

He’s like a polar bear, rarely will they pass up nourishment when they live in such a harsh climate and landscape not knowing when the next meal will come.

Also, nobody in their right mind eats 6 eggs in a day, unless they're bulking up for some sort of competition or something. Or he didn't eat all of them, just carried them with him while hiking in his pajama bottoms, which is even nuttier. Not to mention the chicken he also brought with him. OTOH, he did show the 5 eggs as he was boiling them in the airbnb kitchen, which lends futher credence to the idea that he has no kitchen privileges at the address.

Cool Hand Luke 50 eggs in 1 hour, here Joey Chestnut 50 eggs in under 5 minutes. lol

new Vegas vlogger, turns out his game is paid gow. he even has a strategy system! thought it was an interesting video
