I never said he could get those hours year round. But there are multiple tournament series, it wouldnt be impossible to get 6 months worth of high paid work just dealing tournament series if you are willing to travel.
Even though he is a Nomad he said he doesn't want to travel. It would be smart. Think he wants to work two or three events a year.

You do understand that Pman is a LOSING poker player, right? Getting his grind on is a horrible decision when you have a loss rate.

I don't think you can reserve a room for that long in the Rewards system. You would have to do some of the days completely without benefits from Caesars Rewards. Man-off-the-street prices, even at CET, are pretty severe.
A dealer/floor at 7 mile casino in San Diego, quit his dealer job at Orleans because there wasn’t enough available hours like previously stated in this thread and now works 3 days a week commuting in from Mexico to save money. When I heard this, I immediately thought that would be perfect for Diesel, with his stellar driving and newfound dealer skills.
Some Vegas dealers have multiple jobs because of that.

That would make it two folks who figured that, you and just about every home town hero who arrives in Las Vegas to play poker for a living.
I've been playing live in Las Vegas for most of 50 years, there is no way to make a living by live playing poker at low stakes.
Being "good at it" does not suffice. Additionally, most players who "want" to play for a living are kidding themselves as to their relative edge versus other players generally. Being a long term winning player is not sufficient to make a living from playing live
A player seeking to make a living from playing poker generally needs an edge of some sort over some other player or players and then hustle the f**k out of your mark/pigeon/opponent/whatever.
(Tournaments are different than cash games of course, and online is different than live. Both those formats' features DO provide an opportunity for a player to "make a living at playing poker" in my opinion.)

Gzesh, most of the posters on this thread know that, which is why we are begging Big Poppa to tell diesel to just drive up and down the Mississippi River bumhunting. He is quickly being priced out of Vegas anyways. He figured out that gift card Airbnb “hack,” if he isn’t so lazy he could figure out some credit card hack to get cheaper rooms at whatever chain he wants.
I would say diesel could hustle some AP slots downtown/off strip but the variance would cause him to run out of the casino screaming and begging for someone to give him free chocolate milk.

If by “a lot” you mean roughly the amount you would expect from survivor bias in a game with this much variance, then sure. There is a reason these guys turn over so often. At the low levels careers start with heaters or tournament binks. Those guys either move up or revert to the mean and go broke.

I am not sure but it would be better than Caesar’s if they got rid of the resort fee waiver. I know he would never play but it would be so funny, “I am suing Boyd because that Regal Riches play was a must hit but I lost $200!!!” Plus the inevitable cross over episode of Trooper and Diesel teaming up for “one last AP slots score” so that they can both retire, they hit some 10k jackpot and both are crying saying they finally made it, like it’s all the money in the world.
