Check your filters on the WSOP app. There are boxes you can check to show completed, restarts, side events, satellites when I look the other day I don’t think all of them were checked. I see a 9 AM $250 senior deep stack with registration open for tomorrow.
Seniors 250 starts early on Thursdays (9AM).
Slept great again last night. Was glad to see the WSOP app had updated to show all of today's side events. I have registered for the 9am senior daily deep stack.
Got a great workout in this morning and feel ready to go. Gonna start wandering toward Horseshoe soon. Not hungry at all but will probably grab some sort of fast food breakfast sandwich on the way.
Made my way down to the Horseshoe have about a half hour until the tournament starts. On the way I stopped at McDonald's and grabbed an egg sausage cheese biscuit. It was pretty good. But I'm not a McDonald's guy I come here maybe once every other year and I was confused when I walked in and saw all the kiosks. Had no idea how to use them and then I realized I could go up to the counter to order.
They are making great progress on the guitar. I have a feeling those balcony rooms halfway up will end up being the highest price rooms in vegas.
Just hoping for some decent playable cards and mistake free poker today
First break 28k. Still not a single premium hand the entire tournament so far. But I made the most of what I got. Opened with 10 jack off hit two pair that was good had Jack for suited and the blind that hit two pair that was good maybe one other steal somewhere along the line but really nothing in the way of cards.
My table couldn't be better. It's very limpy very passive and very transparent. Also unless they have something very good they're folding so you can apply pressure. Feel pretty comfortable right now if I can catch any good hands I think I've got a shot at doing good at this table.
Second break 55.4 K depending on the chip race off. Started to catch a few hands went on a little rush right after the last break and I did back down a little bit and then I got a double knockout with Ace King versus Ace Jack and King queen.
The table has gotten a lot tougher. As the passive and limpy players have left new or more aggressive and better players have arrived so it's a lot more challenging right now.
I'm out. Need a succession of second place finishes in hands and finally shoved my A6 Suited which missed everything.
The tournament was kind of depressing. Because I really felt I had a good read on the table and a feel for how everyone played. The problem was they kept getting knocked out and knew more aggressive bigger stacked players were taking their place. The game actually got very aggressive from being very passive. Whenever I had a good hand against one of these more aggressive players I would whiff completely. My chip stack kept dwindling and eventually I just had to make my final shove which of course missed.
I got on the list at the Horseshoe to play some cash but the list was very long and I didn't feel like waiti hyy 730amng so I just put myself on the list of the Venetian and headed back down that way. It was a really good game very aggressive lots of chips flying around but I got absolutely wrecked.
Here's the hand in question I was doing okay I had my stack up to about $400. Early position raises to 12 which is standard. He gets two callers and it comes to me in the small blind and I looked down at Ace Queen off. So of course I call. Flop comes Queen 2 2. I check initial razor bets 20 he gets one caller and one fold. I check raised to 80. Initial razor calls and the other guy folds. Turn is a third deuce.
What do you do here? He could have QQ doubtful he could have Ace Ace also doubtful or he could have King king. Maybe A2 suited? I decide to shove because I know the money is going to get all in one way or the other on this hand. He snapped called and I was shocked when he turned over two 23 of clubs.
23 of clubs is a pretty aggressive utg raise. Does anyone get away from this hand without getting all the money in?
Anyway I'm kind of disgusted with poker right now and I'm going to take the rest of the night off. As soon as I got felted I went and got a chair massage in the Grand Canal shops and it felt great.
Then I grabbed another Howling Rays chicken sandwich to bring back to the room. These things are the nuts and I really needed some comfort food at the time.
Gonna be very tough to get away from that one with AQ on that board, though we have to at least be slightly worried when he calls flop check-raise. Not too many bluffs left at that point, so we're just hoping for something like a stubborn 99-JJ and not the dreaded KK/AA/2x.
Only thought I have is that if we know these guys are aggressive then we can 3-bet AQ pre-flop to tax them. AQ is a hand that I'll go whichever way with depending on table position and dynamics (raise/flat/very rarely fold in very specific situations). Against tight opponents, I think flatting is fine. If we know the game is aggro and people are going crazy, it's near the top of our range and we really want to play it fast. Sometimes it can be hard to tell if it's early in the session or you've just had a table change.

I may venture down to your end of strip tomorrow - may get early start and hit Wynn buffet and poker at Venetian or wynn
Since that early bag which feels like 100 years ago the tournament portion of this trip has been frustrating. I keep making 6-7 hour runs only to be rebuffed. But I guess that is the nature of MTTs. Lots has to go right and it usually doesn't. Often comes down to one key flip or key card hitting the turn or river.
Still trying to decide if I play tomorrow or take a rest day? On one hand I am feeling burned out a bit. On the other hand I am in LV during the WSOP!
If I do play tomorrow it will be the 11am $300 at The Orleans. I haven't been to the Orleans in 20+ years. I played 2 tournaments there and final tabled both. The was pre poker boom limit tournaments but I do have a good track record there 😀
My likely final tournament of this trip will be Saturday for the $800 one day at The Aria. Aria dailies were very important in getting me hooked on tournament poker. I had 2 wins there and a couple of other final tables. I will be wearing the shirt I wore for back to back wins on 2 trips many moons ago 😀

Have you tried the WSOP cash games? They usually have lots of tables. They might be in Paris though. I saw them awhile ago but I can't remember where they are.

Yeah (Paris) I did play one 10 minute session a couple of days ago. They called a new game. 7 players showed up. 3 left in the first orbit and I said screw it and left too. That was late morning when I was trying to kill time pre tournament. I am guessing in more prime time those games are okay.

He may not shove - but you can evaluate bet/sizing and decide. Shoving there he’s not likely to call without having you beat. What bluffs could you have with that board?
Slept real good again last night. Got up and had a great workout. Then I got cleaned up and ubered down to the orleans. I just signed up for the 11:00 $300 tournament. I also grabbed some breakfast down here the food was pretty good but the service was the worst I've ever seen.
Went with the no carb omelette again.

First break 39.6 k doing okay hit a couple small pots nothing big pretty big turnout looks like a nice tournament.
I'm out. I thought I played pretty well but it wasn't meant to be today. After the break I chipped up a little bit and then I made one ill-advised Bluff which not me back down till about where I was when I started the break. Then I proceeded to miss every single flop every time I get in the hand I would be behind. So my chips started dwindling I got down to about 30k. I'm in the small blind button makes a big raise I come over the top he's got Jacks I've got Ace King I miss I'm gone. TJ still hanging in there with a Micro Stack maybe 10ish k he's got to hit a shove or two to get back in the swing of things. Since I couldn't do it today I hope he gets there.
