Trip Report: Solo Vegas Trip Feb 11-15, it's all about the poker
Never done a trip report before, but I have enjoyed reading a few here.
Do I write? Pretty much never, but I do post my p
suited ace open on the button is reasonable. facing a 4x raise it's an easy fold.
I don't drink the hotel tap water unless I'm dehydrated or parched. it's pretty easy to get a free bottle of water and I try to keep a spare/backup available. often the front desk of your hotel will give you one or two if you ask politely. when a you are playing ask for a bottle from the server and get a second one next time, then keep it with you
Johnny Rockets cheeseburger for dinner.
Horseshoe 1/3 for a couple hours, then bedtime.

Vegas tap water probably isn't harmful to your health, but it tastes vile. Life is too short to be drinking vile water.
Outside of Horseshoe, turn towards Paris, there's a CVS right there.
As2s 4 handed on the button if deep enough should definitely be a call at least. I’d contemplate between calling and 4-betting. GTO has it at almost 0% fold FYI.
The Bellagio 2/5 wasn't actually bad. At one point I was up $550 in that game. But I lost on this hand:Loose rec opens $25 in EP. I'm in the plus1 and make it $75 with QQ.Player in the small blind calls $75.Loose rec goes all-in for $300.I decide to jam over the top, and this pushes out the player in the small blind (he had about $375 left behind and I covered him). The all-in
Seems very standard, and just a cooler against someone who wasn't even full stacked. I would 100% play it the same way. If you have AA you can consider just flatting IMO, although it's going to look very strong no matter what you do. QQ does however need more protection from overcards, thus better to get it HU vs the loose rec.

I was thinking to post and complain about how bad this 2/5 at Aria is, and how card dead I’ve been. But I thought better not to post something boring like that.
And then finally, I 3-bet vs a button open and we get $1k stacks in pre-flop! A queen hits the turn, but my AA holds vs KK!
This game still isn’t so great. I should get up soon. I need to save my energy for the Friday night 5/10 at the Bellagio.

It really feels like I’ve been card dead and folding forever but it’s actually only bit a little than 3 hrs in this session. A sign I need to take a break. I’m booking a $850 win for the morning. Last hand before the BB was KQo, and I mucked and am leaving.

It felt like everyone there at the Aria this morning was a reg. I had a few preflop opens, but they were bottom of range, so I had to fold to 3-bets. A couple other hands I opened and had to check and give up. I was thinking my table image must have been tight and passive, but the cards weren't good for me. After about an hr and a half of bleeding my stack, a seat opened an older Asian lady sat down. She was the victim of the AA vs KK cooler. Later, a couple of the other players adressed her by name, so she must be a frequent player there. Alas, no "fun" players at that table still.
I was listening to lectures on my Airpods the whole time at Aria today. At one point the floor guy had to wave his hand in my face to get my attention so that he could access the shuffler under the table. Lol. Multitasking is good, as long as you are doing it ok. I've been pretty happy with my play so far.. I've been making disciplined folds, and have kept to a solid tight preflop range. When I play the Bellagio 5-10, it's going to get my full attention.

Oh man, the conference buffet lunch was pretty good, and I ate a bit too much. I think I need to walk it off. It’s gonna take some serious walking. I might as well check out some other poker rooms.

Dang it, there’s going to be a bit of a wait here. I wanted to collect a souvenir poker chip, but only if I play in a game. I’ve never been here before, surprised to see such a big poker room. They have a tournament going. A whole bunch of 1/3 NL tables, but the list is 28 names. Two 2/3 games and one 3/5 game. I’m up for all of them, but will probably leave to see the Wynn soon. I need the steps more than the action.

I left Venetian and arrived at the Wynn to realize I’ve been here before. I think it was 2016.
Immediate seating available, but the smallest game with an open seat is 2/5. I’m only here to sight see and grab a souvenir $1 chip. I really think I need a nap, if possible, before I can play at Bellagio tonight.
$800 buy-in. 1 or 2 orbits, and I’m out, to head back to the hotel. Or maybe 30 minutes max.

The walk from Wynn back to Horseshoe felt really long. I'm not getting enough sleep and the poker is draining.
I stayed for 2 orbits at Wynn, and won with three hands: ATs, 66, A5s. I had to bluff the last one.

Just arrived at the Bellagio. Sat down in the 5/10, but it wasn’t to my liking and after an orbit, I moved to the 2/5.

As I played the 2-5 last night, I kept my eye on the three 5-10 games. There was never a significant list for either the 2-5 or 5/10. The 5-10 lineups never looked great. My 2-5 game was soft, but not very splashy. After 3 hrs, I moved to a different 2-5 table, but the action wasn't much livelier there. It surprised me that the Friday night Vegas poker action is not actually better than the Friday night action at my local cardroom. But it makes sense. My local cardroom will see a lot of drinking and laughing on Fridays. I didn't see very much of that last night. I was feeling tired at 10:30pm, and called it a night. Today's my last day, I'll plan to go to the Bellagio again since it's just a short walk to get there.
