I'd like to head to the casino again today and keep up my fit of gumption and moxie, but there's a scheduled No Kings protest today two blocks from the MGM, which features some of the only free parking downtown in the city,
The MGM parking lot turns into a shitshow when there's only a minor league hockey game downtown, and I have an inkling that the protests are going to be a big deal in terms of numbers, so I'll be back tomorrow.
Wouldn't a paying parking be mightily +EV for this one time instead of missing out completely on a (surely) potentially very profitable evening!?!?!

I've had free parking in Springfield for so long that paying for it would feel like paying Adobe to use PDFs.
Which phrase? Politarding? It's a common one on this site, but that doesn't make it right, I suppose.
I think at one time they tried to do this.
They charge a subscription fee for Adobe Acrobat, which makes it easier to edit and add to PDFs. I'm generally okay with models that give the basic version away and charge for the advanced version, as long as the basic version doesn't suck.
Too often, when you get the product for free, then you're the product, but there's always going to be some give and take. You have to be smart about what you're getting vs what you're giving and decide if the ratio is a good fit for you.
Pretty meh day for me today at the chance factory. +$10 on the poker over 4 hours in a very card dead session, and a disappointing -$44 session at the slots over 4 hours.
However, I did get to witness my UCONN Huskies Men's Basketball team play the greatest game ending sequence I've ever seen in college basketball, after being down 19 points vs Duke towards the end of the first half.
I fast forwarded it to the good stuff. UCONN is in the dark blue.
Both the Men's and the Women's teams made the Final 4 today.
I haven't done brackets for a while; I'm terrible at them. But nowadays with the transfer portal, I would think picking chalk for the Final Four would be a winning prospect. Pick two 1 seeds, a 2 seed and a 3 seed and you're probably in good shape.
I'm reviving the old Running Tally, but on a weekly basis. That way it'll encourage me to put in the hours during the week, as well as mitigating the daily ups and downs. I'll also be rounding the slot totals to the nearest dollar because I'm lazy.
My work week currently runs from Wednesday to Sunday, with Monday and Tuesday off.

This is true. It also means the end for March Madness. I can't see it generating the excitement it has in the past.

Yeah nobody wants to see teams with 16-15 records from the Big Ten and SEC added to the bracket, other than fans of those specific teams.
imo its fine the way it is now, i'd be fine without the play-in games but understand why they were added along with new conferences.
Been a UConn fan my whole life and a fanatic since graduating in 2014. Think I’ve watched just about every single game for the last 10+ years and that shot was easily the highlight of it all. The shock of somehow winning that game after being essentially dead in the first half was so much that I had tears in my eyes afterwards.
I really don’t feel good about our chances of winning Title #7, but at least the Women should be able to get it done.

This team is high variance; when they're good they're incredible. Witness the beatdown they put on St. Johns in their single win against them. It's going to be interesting and stressful to watch. I'm happy for the opportunity.
Last week I decided to knock my chore list down to four items, period. Otherwise, whenever I make a list, it quickly grows to an intimidating length and I curl up into a fetal position and get none of it done.
Once I strike something off the list, I cannot add anything new for 72 hours. That way, I don't feel like I'm continuously pouring the ocean into a thimble. The thimble gets to be less than full for at least a few days.
So far it's been working. I bought a new shower curtain and I bought some oil for my Jeep, which has a palate that likes to burn a little of it along with its gasoline. Today, I'm doing laundry. My list is down to one item, but later on today I'll add two more chores, as it's been 3 days since I did the first two.

Wow yeah I’m sure it was cool to see that shot in such a crowded pro-Huskies environment. I left Mohegan Sun early that day so that I could get back to stress watch the game at home but you have me regretting that decision now.
And your point about the variance of this team is definitely true. That win against SJU was one of the few games I saw in person this year. I also went into that game expecting to lose so clearly I am a bit too pessimistic about this team and their upside.
