Why do you play micro stakes?

Just wondering is there a reason you play mirco stakes? There are people out there who play it and it's not much money.

It's nice to make money at poker without risking much.

I play micro stakes SnGs because they are fun and I don't have the time nor patience to study in order to become a reg and I don't fancy grinding every day to make money for same reasons.

When poker stops being fun for me I will stop playing.

It’s fun.

I prioritize volume because I'm well aware of the amount of hands required to show a profit consistently. This means heavy multitabling (10-12 tables 6-max), which I can only do at small stakes where the level of play is not high and 3-bet pots are less common than at higher stakes.

Think of it this way: suppose your winrate is 10bb/100 at NL20 vs. 3bb/100 at NL200, and you can 12-table NL20 but only 6-table NL200 (due to lack of games and also because games are tougher, requiring better focus). So you get apprx. 1000 hands/hour at NL20 vs. 500 hands/hour at NL200.

Thus your hourly winrate is either 100bb/hour at NL20 or 15bb/hour at NL200, which is 20 or 30 dollars per hour. The first option comes with a fraction of variance and much less stress. Easy choice for me at least. If you want to challenge yourself and climb up the stakes, then it's a different story.
