Am I any good as a player? Is WPT a place where I can make any judgements about my skill level?
I have been playing poker tournaments as a hobby for a long time now. I have done some study on the game. I play tournaments mostly because I am afraid to lose a lot of money. I don't like to part with more than a couple of hundred bucks at a time. Of course I would like to win. I have never had the bank roll for cash games. But I make it deep into tournaments regularly. I started playing at WPT. I believe I started with 2500 TPs (Tournament points). I'm paying about $35 dollars a month to play in the "VIP" tournaments. I now have 8950 TP. In the last month I played in 37 tournaments and cashed TPs 9 times. I also made real money twice ($10 and $5) which is very hard to do considering these tournaments have anywhere from 400 to 1300 players. You have to make the final table usually to win any money.
I am considering taking poker more seriously and trying to make money at it. Does anyone have any insight on this and on the competition at WPT?

I am still doing well there. I make some good plays early on. The problem is the blinds go up so fast. I was extremely lucky. By lucky I mean I was +EV with draws and hit, hit 5 sets, 2 pair a couple of times. Even with all that going my way I ended up throwing in my money hoping to get lucky because I was short stacked. I won $5 for finishing around 35th out of close to 2000 players. I'll keep studying.
