What is this certification?

I'm a Hi Performance Coach.

I've worked with some of the best poker coaches and life coaches over the past few years and was certified with a very highly rated program.

I wouldn't be trying to coach poker players that i play with a lot how to play poker. But if they wanted help to get improve their life (given that a lot of the guys have issues)

I guess my premise here was that I wanted to offer value, so if I can find out what some guys in the game wants, and I can help them out in some way, and offer value, they might reciprocate by getting me access to the game.

I don't feel they will perceive me being at the table as offering a ton of value, rather they would want someone in there who doesn't know what they are doing at the table.

And the games I was looking at were semi-private. Sometimes they open up the list so I would get some access there and I'd like to get a good impression.

I might even have a few beers the next time so I can loosen up and gamble it up a bit to get invited back, but I certainly can be doing that very frequently. I didn't realize when I was playing that the next day I can't play again cause it's full of VIP, but if I feel like if I can get in with one or two of the regs, then I would get access. Actually, this guy who I was friendly with before asked me when I sat down, "who invited you" lol. I said "I snuck in throught he back door" He liked me but wasn't thrilled to have me there at this private game.

There isn't a ton of PLO where I play at home, a lot of those games are private or semi-private. I hate playing NL all the time

Seeing that report on Houston area poker robberies in my national news feed. Apparently robbing not the games but individuals, following/stalking them. I've long said if I was ever in the robbery business it sure wouldn't be 7-11s or even banks, but bookies and poker players.

ya, robbing poker players is the easiest money on the planet. its part and parcel with how little young winning players understand how good they are running. they walk in and out of the casino with 5 figures in cash/chips constantly in their fruity backpacks just asking to get clipped.

Ive been at a private game that got "robbed" (likely inside job imo) but never personally. I never take much money outside the casino and always use my players bank and safe deposit box. everyone knows this so i never become a mark.

At least in Texas, Florida or Nevada, you can have a concealed carry permit.

the guys in Texas were busted. I don't think they can continue to get away with it LOL 😀

concealed carry will do you zero good. prob increases your chances of ending up dead or in jail by 100x.

That's one point of view for sure. I can appreciate your point of view on that one. I think it depends on what state you're in, and the specific situation that you're in.

by the way, how are the PLO games out in L.A. these days? Any take on Hawaii Gardens or other places?

I had a belief (not sure if it's real or not) that the rake was absurdly high in L.A. I play 5/10 and 10/20 most of the time.

Are you even allowed to carry a gun in California?

Back in the old days, did they not carry guns around with them and go from home game to home game?

I had an idea that the new poker players were pretty sheltered compared to how it was 30 or 40 year ago.

Pretty sure concealed weapons carries are banned in almost all Las Vegas casinos, notwithstanding someone having a CC permit from the State.

There likely is a posted sign at each entrance. Better look for it before entering.
