As many of you know, Two Plus Two has filed two lawsuits. They concern trademarks infringement, cybersquatting, copyright infringement, and some other stuff. I’m not going to address them here, but for those interested there have been a couple of threads in our poker News, Views, and Gossip Forum.
Our next book, DUCY? by David Sklansky and Alan Schoonmaker Ph.D. is now at the printers. Our target date for release is January 20, 2010, and there is already some discussion of the text on our Book and Publications Forum. As stated previously, this is not a poker book. It’s more like a self-help book with many of the ideas actually being derived from poker and gambling.
For those of you who have been asking about the next Harrington book which will feature six-max games, we are now expecting to receive the manuscript from Dan Harrington and Bill Robertie at the end of this month (January). And then assuming everything goes smoothly from there, the book should be ready by the middle of April.
Some of you may have noticed a few changes on the website. This includes how coaches are handled and some banner ads which are appearing in some of the lifestyle oriented forums. This is all part of our growing process and as time goes on there should be more changes here and there.
I also want to mention that our PokerCast, hosted by Mike and Adam has now gone over 100 episodes. I think all will agree that the show has just been terrific and the number of listeners continues to grow with as many as 70,000 downloads for a recent show.
One final note. We have been receiving some inquiries from new authors who want to send us proposals for their books. At Two Plus Two, it’s our policy, unless we already are familiar with your work, not to look at a book proposal but to see a completed manuscript before we can make a judgment concerning publication. We need to do this to assure that our published books do meet our standards and to help us determine, assuming we do choose to publish it, what the royalty rate should be since we do not have a standard royalty rate that all our authors get.
That’s all for this month and a happy new year to everyone.
