Two Plus Two is now in the process of converting many of our books to ebook form. We expect to have approximately 20 books available through our Two Plus Two Store in about six weeks. In addition, we may add, as time goes on, additional supplemental material, as well as audio lectures and perhaps even a few videos. Also, as we do new books, they will be made available in the ebook format (as well as our regular print format.)
The pricing of the ebooks will most likely be exactly the same as the pricing of our hard copy books. So for instance, Tournament Poker for Advanced Players, even though its suggested retail price is $29.95, is currently for sale in our 2+2 Store at http: //www.twoplustwostore.com/twoplustwo/ at $20.95 for a new book. Expect the ebook version to be priced the same. Also, there will probably be a discount for those of you who wish to purchase both the hard copy and the ebook version. As more information becomes available, we’ll keep everyone informed.
We will also be releasing our next book on June 15, 2009. It will be the expanded edition of David Sklansky’s book Poker, Gaming, & Life which is currently out of print. The new version will still be priced at the same $24.95 suggested retail (which means our Two Plus Two Store will probably sell it at a substantial discount to this price), but the book is being expanded by over 100 pages and many of the additional essays deal with today’s hot topic of no-limit hold ’em. For those of you interested in this title, our Two Plus Two Store will soon start taking pre-orders. So look for their announcement concerning this on our Books and Publications Forum as well as in other places on our site.
And speaking of future books and ebooks, we currently have two more books scheduled this year. They are the next David Sklansky book co-written with Dr. Alan Schoonmaker. In a few words or less it is about how to combine math, logic, psychology, and creative, "outside the box," thinking to produce innovative solutions to a wide range of problems.
The second book, which we are hopeful to have near the end of the year, will be the next Harrington book written by Dan Harrington and Bill Robertie. It is currently being worked on and much of the book will be devoted to the six-max no-limit games.
We also now have room on our schedule for a couple of additional books. We have currently looked at several manuscripts concerning pot-limit Omaha but have not yet found the right book. We also could possibly publish another no-limit hold ’em text that emphasizes six-max games and some of the latest technologies concerning the poker games that are currently being offered on the Internet.
So if you are an author who may be interested in submitting something to us, now is a good time. However, unless we already know you well, we will need to see, at the very least, much of the manuscript before we can make a decision. This way we can be assured that what we publish continues to be only top notch material, and it also helps us in deciding exactly what royalty rate the author(s) should receive. And as for royalties, we pay much higher than our major competitors, and in general our authors make four to five times as much as they would elsewhere.
