This issue, our big news is the release of our new book Heads-Up No-Limit Hold ’em by Collin Moshman. We feel it’s a strong effort that meets all our publishing standards, and for those of you interested in playing in some of these heads-up games, it should be must reading. So if so inclined, Mike at our Two Plus Two Store can fill your orders here.
As for the website, our next big project will be social networking capability. We’ve been working on this for a while and still have much more to do, and progress is definitely being made. Don’t expect to see this real soon, but it is coming.
On a different subject, thanks to a little more free time lately, I’ve been playing some poker again in the Las Vegas cardrooms. What is very noticeable is the decline in the number of games. There is still a lot of poker, but not as much as there once was. Of course, this may all be an illusion since there are now more poker rooms meaning many more poker tables than there once was. But, I can’t help but think that the no-limit games are beginning to take their toll on the potential players, and those cardrooms which are lifting the caps on their no-limit games, especially those at the smaller stakes, are in my opinion making a huge mistake for the long term health of our industry.
Finally, I’m being asked what our publishing schedule will be in the future. At this point in time, we’re not really sure. While we do expect to do more books, and this includes the next effort by Dan Harrington and Bill Robertie (spring or early summer in 2009) that should include material on the six-max games, we also look forward to slowing down our book production schedule.
Part of the reason for this is that we feel our family of books is becoming complete in the sense that most (but not all) subjects are covered. However, we’re always willing to look at a good manuscript, and if you are working on a book, feel free to contact us to see if we might have any interest.
Anyway, to finish, Dynasty has put together another very good magazine with some challenging articles. So let’s get to it.
