This month, the big news for us is the Harrington on Cash Games books, Volumes I and II. Our printer began delivering them to our Henderson, Nevada offices, where we also have a warehouse facility, on March 17. The demand has been incredible.
I’m writing this Note exactly 10 days after our initial delivery and we already have orders for approximately 30,000 books, all of which have now been shipped. So those of you who like to purchase your books at the major chain stores, by the time this Publisher’s Note appears in our Two Plus Two Internet Magazine for viewing, the Cash Games books should begin to appear on the bookstore shelves. But we suspect the initial orders won’t last very long.
Perhaps the person who has had to work the hardest, next to our book packer, is Poker Mike in our Two Plus Two store. He only had about 3,000 books to ship out, in addition to our regular orders, many to readers in countries all over the world. And true to his word, if you bought these books through our store, you got them first.
On a slightly different topic, the reception for the Cash Games books has been tremendous. Both Dan and Bill told me upon delivery of the manuscripts that these texts were every bit as good, if not better, than the previous Harrington on Hold ’em books. And I’ve noticed many comments on our forums consistent with this, so it appears that these books have met and exceeded their high expectations that many had set for them.
Finally, many of you have been asking “What’s next for Dan and Bill?” And it turns out that I, as their publisher, know the answer and will announce it here: The next thing that Dan and Bill will do is take a vacation. Writing the type of extensive and definitive books as they have done is a lot of work and they each deserve a well earned rest. As for what their next book project will be, I’ll let everyone know at the appropriate time.
