I have a couple of things to report for the New Year. First off, Twitch is coming to www.twoplustwo.com. We’ve been working on it for a few weeks now, and hopefully by the time this is published Twitch will be active on our website, and if it’s not, it will be soon. For those of you who would like to know a little more about Twitch, please be sure to listen to Pokercast Episode 344 ‑ Poker and Twitch.tv with Scott Ball.
It’s a great interview that Adam and Terrence did with the Twitch Representative for Poker, Scott Ball, who’s working with Two Plus Two to get everything going, and Scott is also an enthusiastic poker player, so he’s right at home working with us.
Next, David Sklansky and I, with an assist from Rich Muny as moderator, will be giving a talk at the iGaming North America 2015 Conference which will be held The Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino here in Las Vegas from April 14-16. Our topic will be about addressing simple algorithmic strategies that have the potential to damage Internet poker and how to bring the fun back into our game.
Since this is now the New Year, it’s always appropriate to take a look back on the previous year and see how things went. Well, I won’t spend much time here except to say that 2014 was a tough year for the poker industry, and this includes online as well as brick and mortar. Of course there were a few bright spots and there are lots of us still playing poker, but the industry needs to do better to remain healthy.
However, despite these negative comments, I’m still optimistic and expect 2015 to be a better year. But our work is cut out for us as the forces that want to limit Internet poker are still fighting against us, and without a lot of work on our side, they just may be successful. So please keep up with the latest from the PPA (including Rich Muny’s monthly article that appears in this magazine) and the Daily Action Plan that Rich also posts in a couple of places on our website.
Finally, I would be amiss if I didn’t mention the First Annual American Poker Awards which will be taking place on the 27th of February at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills California.
