Our new Harrington on Cash Games: Volumes I and II have now been released for almost six weeks and initial sales have been terrific. So I wanted to start this note by thanking all of you for your support, especially those who purchased through our Two Plus Two store. In addition, having read each book carefully and thoroughly five times (as part of my publisher duties), my no-limit hold’em game, when I get to play, is now much better.
We have also just heard from Collin Moshman concerning his new book Heads-Up No-Limit Hold ’em: Expert Advice for Winning Heads-Up Poker Matches. He’s expecting to deliver the manuscript to us in early May, and assuming everything goes well, we could have it printed and available by early July (though August might be more realistic). I’ll keep everyone informed as progress is made.
In the past, we have never done much at the World Series of Poker. While we have always recognized it as the great event that it is, those of us at Two Plus Two have only participated as players. This year, however, will be a lot different. We plan to have a major presence at the WSOP Expo which runs form July 3 through July 6. Not only will we have one of the biggest booths at the Expo hall, we expect it to be the busiest and the most dynamic as well.
Our booth will also be a great opportunity for us to meet many of you, so if you’re in town on those days, make sure to stop by and introduce yourselves. In addition, we’ll have a bunch of book signings for those of you who want to pick up a “Dan Harrington,” a “David Sklansky,” or even a “Ray Zee.”
But we’re hoping to have a lot more than just this. However, our plans are not yet finalized and there’s always a chance that things won’t work out as expected. So nothing else will be announced here at this time. However, we’ll be making our plans known on the 2008 Summer in Vegas Discussion Forum, as well as other places on the website as soon as they are finalized.
Also, in this issue of the magazine, I have an article on “Tilt — A Mathematical View.” Because of a different article by Jared Tendler which appeared last month, there has already been much discussion in our Two Plus Two Magazine Forum on this topic. Since my essay is very different from what appeared previously on this subject, we expect the discussion to continue in earnest.
Finally, I need to end this on a very sad note. One of the members of our community, as most of you already know, Brandi Hawbaker, recently passed away. We send our deepest sympathies and condolences to her family and friends. For those of you who also want to express your feelings, we have a thread on the News, Views, and Gossip Forum dedicated to her memory.
